Just Wondering... Why the IHRA’s national events don’t attract more fans? All I hear from disenchanted NHRA fans is that they want quarter-mile nitro racing, more affordable ticket pricing and affordable  food. The IHRA races offer all of that yet struggle to attract fans to their events

Just Wondering... What have the changes in NHRA Pro Stock rules done to make that class more attractive and entertaining for fans and affordable for new racers? My opinion is that all the changes have accomplished so far was to cost the teams a boatload of cash. Practically nothing else has changed.

Just Wondering... Why the Toyota Racing Division hasn’t built an NHRA Pro Stocker or even a Stock or Super Stocker with an engine based on their “big block” truck engine? NHRA VP Graham Light is on record saying the NHRA will welcome a Pro Stock entry from auto manufacturers not based in the U.S. I’d bet a Toyota Pro Stock team would not only attract some of the Import racing crowd to an NHRA race but also attract a more diverse TV audience.

Just Wondering... Why the price of a ticket to attend an NHRA national event has risen steadily over the years, along with the salaries of most the NHRA management, while the purses for the professional classes hasn’t been increased in a couple of decades?

Just Wondering... Did you know that according to the NHRA’s tax returns over the last 10 years the payroll and size of the NHRA’s executive team has steadily increase since Tom Compton (whatever happened to him?) became president? The current NHRA management team had a combined salary of over $2,000,000 in 2014. Over that same time the NHRA management team has moved to reduced the size and payroll of almost every other division of the company significantly.

Just Wondering... Was the reported record viewership around 1.3 million homes for the NHRA/ FS-1 broadcast of this year’s NHRA race at Phoenix a direct result of the race broadcast being preceded by a NASCAR race? Was the TV audience the Las Vegas race get close to the audience they had for Phoenix? I'll bet not since there has been no press release from the NHRA on that subject after Las Vegas or Charlotte.

Just Wondering... Will the RPM group that runs and finances NHRA’s Pro Mod exhibition class renew the contract they have with the NHRA that expires after this season? My opinion is the odds are not good that the principles of the RPM group will re-sign another one-sided contract with the NHRA. That being said, it wouldn’t surprise me if another group of wealthy Pro Mod racers agreed to the same deal. P.T. Barnum knew what he was talking about.
