Boycott ‘Street Outlaws’?

Sure, let’s boycott the "criminals".

While we do that let’s just look at the history of drag racing: Drug dealers, pyramid scheme operators, frauds, phony track construction schemes, violent racers, lying and more.

SO, let’s boycott drag racing. Plenty of criminals!

And we can forget the rest of professional motor sports too.

Pro Stock what?

What does NHRA think we are? Stupid? Do the powers that be think that removing a hood scoop, shortening the wheelie bars a few inches and implementing fuel injection, will make the paying public flock to the drag strip? It's a joke and everyone knows it!

The sanctioning body needs people with vision! Oh my gosh, as a 57-year-old fan, I'm so embarrassed at what NHRA has become. 1,000 foot racing in the Nitro classes is a death knell also, mark my words!

Analyzing NHRA

I'd like to add my voice to your ongoing readers’ poll about what's wrong with NHRA and why we aren't going to the races anymore.

First off, I actually DO still go to national events. I am lucky enough to be in SoCal so I get to go to Pomona twice a year. Sure, it would be nice if the price was less. I'm a cheap guy and always want to get more for less, but I can afford to go so I do. The difference is that I only go on Sunday and I don't take the kids.

1,000 feet. I was really p*ssed when they did this, but it doesn't actually change things much when you're sitting in the grandstands. The reality is that a lot of the current tracks are just too short (Pomona being God awful). They can't lengthen them and as is obvious, you just can't slow 'em down, so now they have added 320 feet to the shutdown area of every track.

The Fox shows are pretty good, are replayed so some non-fans might accidentally see them and realize that drag racing is still going on, and Fox actually does promos on other shows (notably the UFC shows).
