Crampton to fly with Kalitta Air and DHL

Richie Crampton’s Top Fuel Dragster will display the Kalitta Air and DHL partnership in multiple races for the 2018 season. The scheme is modeled after the co-branded DHL and Kalitta Air 747 airplanes that deliver packages worldwide.

The gray and yellow colors will be campaigned by Crampton for several races throughout the 2018 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing season. Crampton, who will compete for the championship full time, will run several different schemes throughout the year with some races having primary inventory still available.

The motorsport connection between DHL and Kalitta Motorsports has lasted over a decade, making it one of the longest running and most successful sponsorships in the sport. Del Worsham flew the DHL colors to the Funny Car championship in 2015 and current DHL Funny Car driver J.R. Todd earned DHL their first U.S. Nationals win last season.

Alba Colon moves to NASCAR’s Hendrick Motorsports

Ms. Colon is seen here with car builder and Pro Stock Truck driver Jerry Haas in 2000. Some of you may remember Alba Colon when she was a mechanical engineer with GM Motorsports based in Warren, MI. Joining GM in 1994, she had a hand in drag racing applications. She was GM program manager for NHRA’s Pro Stock Truck program from 1998 to 1999, and was named program manager of Chevrolet and Pontiac drag racing programs in 2000. Most recently she helped advance Chevrolet’s NASCAR program.

Later this month she will join Hendrick Motorsports to oversee its competition systems group. She takes over from Darian Grubb, who will be William Byron’s crew chief in the Monster Energy NASCA Cup Series this year.
