Victory NSS win at Eddyville goes to Gaines

The Victory Nostalgia Super Stock group took part in the Midwest Nostalgia Nationals in Eddyville, IA, on June 8-9. Tom Gaines’ 1964 Dodge (above) edged out the ’67 Dodge of Bob Lantero for the final-round win.

When the final car ran down the track for qualifying, the score boards showed five racers ran dead on. It took the Accutime computer in the tower to figure that Jim Shelton's pass was 0.0002 better than second place qualifier Dennis Spurgeon. That is some tough qualifying! Shelton was driving his revamped 1965 Dodge for the first time of competition.

The Victory Series will return to action this Friday and Saturday, July 27-28, at Cordova International Raceway’s Door Warz event.
