 FRIDAY, NOV. 28

Luke Bogacki, Brad Hawk, Jeff Shaw and Don Tanklage scored final-round wins on the first day of the Las Vegas Bracket Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.   Bogacki defeated Chris Lindsay to claim the $5,000 Super Pro winner’s check.

Record rainfall on Thanksgiving Day caused The Strip’s crew to push the pause button on the seventh annual Las Vegas Bracket Nationals. With Wednesday's Turkey Thaw Thrill Show and opening day (Thursday) of the Las Vegas Bracket Nationals cancelled due to rain, racers were champing at the bit to compete Friday morning.  To add insult to injury, the event was delayed two hours by fog. (It was impossible to the scoreboards from the officials' tower.) Eliminations began at 1:35 p.m., following time trials and Run-for-the-Money competitions.

Winners of the Clark Griswold Trophy for best Christmas-decorated pit area were the combined pit area of the Myhre and Propp families of Sacramento, Calif.
