Round 2: Malick def. Evans, Gassmann def. Storty, Hill def. Blume, Goods def. Kull, Wines def. Rowe, Whittington def. Settles, Hoyler def. Miller, Parson def. Ward, Ford def. Kitchen.

Round 3: Ford over Goods, Hoyler over Whittington, Malick over Hill, Wines over Gassmann, and BSD local racer (one of five locals entered in the race) Barry Parson had the bye run into the fourth round.

In the quarter finals, Hoyler won over a badly red-lighting Parson (-.149), Ford took out Malick as Malick left before the third amber, and Wines took an easy bye run into the semis.

Late models compete with classic cars in Pro Stick. Here is Sunday’s winner, Dan Hoyler (near lane) and Clark Knudsen, both in Mustangs.

Michael Ford’s Nova got the semi win over the Camaro of Kevin Wines.

Hoyler chose to not make the semi-final round run, and according to Pro Stick rules, if you have the bye, you don’t have to take it to advance. That rule will be changed before the next race. In the other semi-final match, Michael Ford in his 1967 Nova ran 10.19 on a 10.12 dial in to take out Kevin Wines in his ’69 Camaro. Wines ran 10.294 on a 10.21 dial.

In the final round Hoyler used a much better .089 light and ran 11.009 on his 10.97 dial to cover Ford’s .339 light and run of 10.040 on a 10.14 dial in.

Eric Kitchen, president of the Pro Stick racers, points his 485-powered ’69 Chevelle skyward.

The next race on the Pro Stick schedule is June 14 at Summerduck Dragway, Summerduck, VA. The group will return to BSD during the York US-30 Nostalgia Nationals July 13 for their anniversary race. You can find a complete schedule of their events at www.prostickracing.com.
