The Super Comp category had 90 competitors, a vast majority of which were dragsters, but there were some doorslammer racers in the field also. Larry Scarth got his 1999 Monte Carlo to the second round as did Ken Mustowich and his Chevy Cavalier, but all the slammers were gone after the third round and it was all dragsters from then on.

The Super Gas class also had a 90-car field. There were two perfect runs during eliminations. Lamar Swindoll of Hitchcock, TX, drove his 27-T Ford to a 9.900 in a first round win and Thomas Bayer drove his ’62 Vette to a perfect 9.900 before bowing out.
The Super Gas final saw Mike Ferderer in his ’03 Pontiac Grand-Am get the win when California racer Ryan Herem went red in his ’62 Vette by .002 against the veteran racer.
