In the ever expanding ACU Super Street Bike ranks, a lot of racers have got all serious with diets being the hot topic over the winter in order to eek some more performance from their rides. The now slimline Garry Bowe and his Home-Brewed Busa took the event win by a slender margin over Rick Stubbins and reversing their 1 and 2 qualifying positions in the process. ACU Comp Bike is another growing class and Stuart Crane proved to be the class of the field with a low qualifying effort and worked his way through the eliminator to face last season’s dominant force in the person of Ivan Birch. A slight holeshot to Birch put Crane into catch-up mode, but by half track he managed to get ahead and hold on to the finishline stripe.

Best of British
A number of debuts and reappearances at the Thunderball had a very British feel to them.

After over two decades over in France, the iconic Stripteaser Minivan has been fully restored by Andrew Gibb and Fester Race Cars with the traditional Jaguar straight-six power. The revitalized Jumping Doghouse is a significant and historic addition to the Pro ET bracket.

Another throwback to waybackwhen is the Dorset Horn A35 altered of Dick Sharp. Last seen disintegrating in a heavy topend crash, the west country team returned to action with the seventh version in Wild Bunch competition at the Thunderball 37 years after first appearing at Santa Pod.
