After a horrendous wind storm appeared on the first day of the 2009 Spring Nationals at Primm Valley Resorts the NSDA produced a spectacular event including Top Fuel, Top Alcohol Dragster, and Top Eliminator along with 11 other top notch Sand Drags classes. 

The star of the field was without question Scott Whipple and his awesome Canidae All Natural Pet Foods-backed Whipple and Satterlee TF car as he literally whipped his competition with times of 2.30 and 160 mph for the 300-foot distance in the Nevada desert.

TOP FUEL

There were seven of the top entries in Top Fuel, but one of those was only running exhibition because Butch and Terri Blair elected to run a set up with dual paddle tires, which has not been done since about 1996. What it produced on their very first run with the Martinez, Calif.-based “Fugowie” was a giant wheelstand and she crossed the centerline.
