Top qualifier in the Junior Fuel bracket was the B&M supercharged 468 cube Chev of Harry Fouwler. The ”Thunder Chicken” FED didn’t make it to the final of the bracket after fouling out in round one.

Junior Fuel was the province of the small block Chev powered “Monster” altered of Stefano Nicotra. A best of 8.36 saw the T-Bucket qualify in fifth position and three consistent wins put the little car into the final where Nicotra faced the Fiat Topolino altered of Michael Heppleston. Both went into a narcoleptic sleep on the line with Nicotra’s .251 outdoing his opponent’s .305 reaction time allowing his 8.48/132.41 past a 8.74.
