The SS/AH of Rains managed to make it through the fourth round of the seven-round marathon before getting trailered. In the meantime, number 67 qualifier Lang was a picture of driver and car consistency, taking out a half-dozen quicker and faster opponents.

In the final two rounds of Super Stock the red light played a very important role in determining the winner. In the semi-finals (Rd 6) Lang had a .002 light on his single while San Clemente, CA, racer John Mason advanced to the finals when Jackie Alley went badly red, leaving .369 before the green! That’s called a bad guess.

Then in the final round the tables turned and Mason went “dead red” against Lang, who had his best competition RT with a .016 and then ran a easy 12.206 on his 11.37 dial.

Super Street/ Super Gas/Comp

In the final round of Super Comp Eliminator, Santa Fe, CA, resident Michael Miller ousted Travis Theobald of St. George, Utah, to score the win.  Super Gas racer Ted Seipel, San Leandro, Calif., who qualified number 2 in the program, beat Justin Lamb of Henderson, Nev.

Tim Landis, Glendale, Ariz., came away with the win in Super Street in a double breakout affair. Landis broke out by .009 with a lap of 11.941 while opponent Joe Greco, San Jose, Calif. wasted a .013 light when he ran a .022 under the index with an 11.028 in the final.
