Semi finals in Funny Car started at around 8 p.m. after some mechanical issues and a huge oil-down in Super Pro.

First pair saw, the very lucky Thompson facing the very fast Ken Webster. Webster had the pace, but Thompson had the reaction and won with the holeshot, running a 5.71 over 5.66. The next pair was D6's Hough against D7's Gasparrelli. Hough shook hard and something broke around half-track, which gave Steve the win even though he was pedaling his way to the end. Hough laid a bunch of oil down on that run and it was dark by the time the dragsters came to the line.

The first pair of rails were Steve "Buzz Lightyear" Federlin lining up with Joey Severance, with Severence (shown) taking the win and a spot in the final. Shawn Cowie got a single into the final as Dale Carlson could not fix his ride in time to show.

Sunday was all business, with cloudy, but dry conditions. The Funny Car final showed that track prep was bang on as Gasparrelli won a great race with a 5.58/257 over a quicker reacting 5.65/252 for Thompson, and the Wally heads south.

The Dragsters final had Cowie trying to maintain his perfect record in D6 events for 2009 and Severance hoping to break the cycle. But it was Cowie making it four in a row as he ran 5.37/268 over a tire smoking Severance and that Wally would head north to Canada.

Doug Lambeck in the Sunfire won Comp Eliminator over pole sitter Clint Neff in the final.  Wes King took his '67 Nova to the win in Super Stock, beating Gary Faul in his '66 El Camino. Tacoma's Mark Faul won Stock Eliminator over Toby Lang in a match up of '69 Chevelles.

Super Comp was a local match up as Don Juel beat Howard Johnson in the final. Super Gas was won by Mike Ferderer (shown), who maintained championship form to beat Mike Shannon of Kelowna, B.C.
