The Con-Quest Firebird of Tim Henry paired up against the Magna-Fuel Monte Carlo of Kelly Bluebaugh. Henry showed that the earlier 6.34 was no fluke as he got the holeshot once again and never look back. When the boards lit up, it was a new WCHRA PRO E.T. record time of 6.332 at 221.13 mph and a win over Bluebaugh`s 7.515 at 148.

OUTLAW 10.5

Current WCHRA points leader and record holder Doug Sikora continued his ways, taking the #1 spot in qualifying with a 4.612 at 162.95, followed by Rich Zehring 4.842, John Wall, Freddy Hall, Theo Dec and Kevin Wallaeur.

First pair would be the Pettis Perf./Pro-Charged SBF Mustang of Doug Sikora against Kevin Wallauer but Wallauer had convertor problems and couldn’t make it.

Rich Zehring and his “Lil Bri” tuned, Pettis Perf. Nova was scheduled to run Theo Dec in his “Wizard Racing” Chevy II, but Dec had problems and Zehring would single.

John Wall, who had qualified #3 on his first pass with his newly rebuilt L&R Engines, Ford Perf. Solutions Mustang, was up next to take on Freddy Hall in his twin turbo ‘63 Chevy. Hall took a big holeshot over Wall .075 to .497 and turned it into a win, 5.331 at 132.91 to Wall’s 5.109 at 148.68.

Sikora had the competition bye in round 2, and did they make the best of it! They found their lost performance problem (a bad crank trigger) and clicked off a potential record setting 4.443 at 168.16 mph.

Zehring went red (RT -.364) 6.344 at 87.24 to Hall’s 10.637 at 60.58 but Freddy Hall was DQ`d for not stopping at the scales, so Zehring was reinstated and headed to the final to face off against Sikora.

In the final (right), Team Sikora was looking to repeat and set the E.T. record while Team Zehring was looking to step up and take out that Mustang! When the tree dropped it was Sikora off the line first, .090 to Zehring`s .151 and Sikora took the win with a 4.440/166.72 to Zehring’s  4.799/164.56.
