By being the runner up, Krieger took over the points lead and is now dominating the class. In the past four events Krieger has a win, two runners up, and a quarter-final finish.

In the semis, Scott Joines had the bye run, but still put together a .009 package. He was .008 red and win 10.701 on his 10.70 dial. In the other semi, it was a rematch of Saturday’s final and the outcome was the same too, Krieger defeated Marvin Roles.

The Dial Rite was won by Ken Plouffe who ran 12.444 on his 12.44 dial to win the $180 prize. Mark Miyashiro ran a 10.194 on his 10.19 dial, but Plouffe had the better reaction time and that was the tie breaker and gave Plouffe the money.

The Cal Automotive Sponsored $50 award for the first person to go red in eliminations went to Dan Hermes who went red by .027 in the first round against Craig Hoefer.

The top five in points with four races left are Dick Krieger, Jack Swanson, Dwayne Eastridge, Peter Berkuta, and John Joines.

Part of the yearly tradition is for a big barbeque and potluck dinner put on by Auto Club Dragway, SCEDA, the Pro Gas Association and the Meziere family.

Steve Parsons got the Pro Gas win with a 9.934 at 158 mph. Runner-up Val Torres, Jr. red-lighted when the trans brake failed in the Marcum family-owned ’67 Chevy Nova.
