In our other headlining categories, Randy Parker in the awesome "Photo Op" Datsun was going to need a nice sofa to sleep on as he beat his wife Kim in the "Hell on Wheels" Mustang to advance to the final where he would meet Royce Taylor who took his Mach 1 Mustang past Greg Howland's Corvette. Brent Murray kept the "Damn Yankee" in the game by taking out first alternate Joey Steckler in his Corvette; he would face Corey Sekura in his Trans Am after he put brotherly love aside to put down Ron in their semi. Pro Street saw Daryll Stone's Chevy take out Dale Pederson in his new (to him) Monte Carlo. In the battle of the turbos, Kerry Stone's black Camaro got by the wild riding Thunderbird of Mark Wolfe. Trevor Wilms lucked out again as Trevor Lowe blew the tires off early to hand over the win to the struggling Corvette. Wilms would not make the semi so both Stone Brothers got singles into the PS final. For TFH it was Houniet, Cownden, and Pelrin moving on, with the final ending up as Houniet/Pelrin.

Later, the Northwest BB/FC Association final had some start line humour going on as Randy Parker lined up the 240Z against Royce Taylor's Mach 1, and after being beaten by her husband in the semis Kim Parker was seen sporting a Royce Taylor shirt to get inside Randy's head. It worked, as the ever dominating Randy Parker got beaten by Royce Taylor for the Wally, and it might be Kim on the sofa after all.

In the finals we had some good match ups all through the ranks. Mike Pelrine took a convincing win over Ron Houniet in Top Fuel Harley. Houniet, a multi-time Canadian Champ in his first year back after a break, is starting to find his form, but Pelrine is beginning to show some real consistent performance and will be a contender on a regular basis.  Daryll Stone was the winner over his brother in the Canadian Pro Street final, the class seeing a good race to finish a day of missed opportunities for many drivers.
Brent Murray, in one of the race's best looking cars, fell asleep on the start line, was too slow to stage, making it an easy win for Corey Sekura in the beaten and battle scared Pontiac to get the Wally in the Rocky Mountain Nostalgia Funny Car class.  Nitro Funny Cars came to the line with the expectation of a great race. They did not disappoint. Form said Boychuk for the win and that's how it turned out: Tim ran 5.71/249, but Mark Sanders kept him honest to the end with a slowing 5.92/241.

Sanders took a bit of a beating when some drive train parts let go and knocked him around a bit in the lower body, but in true warrior fashion he climbed from the car a bit beaten up, but head held high, and the classy Tim Boychuk was straight over to make sure all was well. A great finish to a great weekend at Mission Raceway Park, BC Canada.
