Round One of Eliminations
Tim Cruce used up the entire left lane, almost crossing the centerline at the top end, but it didn’t matter as Steve Wiley had turned on the red light at the start.

Greg Green put a .018 light for the win when Gene Hector who overpowered the track. Green ran 4.523/156.46.

Gaylen Smith had a late light (.188) but motored by Eric Clark, who was fresh off his Automatic Pro Mod win at Houston Motorsports Park win. Smith ran a 3.890 at 190.89 mph to Clark’s 4.624/147.15

Doug Riesterer had a late light for the win with a 4.085/175.91 when David Baldwin spun at the starting line.

This meant that two blown cars and the two nitrous cars would meet each other in the semifinals.
