NHRA at Houston

The Wild and Wooly West

There was some great action, good racing and a lot of luck at the O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Spring Nationals presented by Pennzoil at Royal Purple Raceway.

It wasn’t the best weekend for Mickey Ferro. In the third round of TAFC qualifying his Monte Carlo got out of the groove and spent some time scraping along the guardwall before Ferro clicked it off. That’s Steve Gasparrelli in the other lane.

Then Ferro had a two-wheel ride during his semifinal round match-up with Tony Bartone. Bet his arms were a bit sore from trying to keep the car under control.

The rest of the racing may have seemed a bit bland by comparison, but not for the winners.
