Danny Rowe and crew wait for the start signal

In the semi’s, the Reher-Morrison-powered Al-Anabi stable of cars continued their dominance, dispatching supercharger racers Danny Rowe and Mike Janis with solid five-second ET’s that their supercharged opponents couldn’t come close to.

The final round was all Castellana as he left first with a .044 RT to Balooshi’s .054 RT and he led stripe to stripe turning in a 5.920/243.15 to bury Balooshi’s 5.952/243.28.

While the Pro Mod racing at Houston was good, there are some signs that the rule changes put in for the 2011 season may be having a stifling effect on The Get Screened America Pro Mod series. Based upon performance and wins so far this season, it is obvious that the current rules for NHRA supercharged cars that restrict those racers to Roots-style superchargers and limited overdrive, puts them at a performance disadvantage.

The problem with Pro Mod racing from its very beginning has been how to make rules that prevent either a nitrous, supercharged or turbocharged powered car from having a performance advantage. The NHRA is now facing that issue with their own Pro Mod class.
