With a wheels-up launch, Halstead took a starting line advantage over the Mustang, but Romine’s top end power, courtesy of Mike Cavalieri, allowed him to charge past Halstead at the 1,100-foot mark to take the win light with a 5.878 ET at 246.62 mph to the Duster’s 5.949 ET at 244.07 mph.

The next stop for the NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series Nitro Funny Cars will be in Boise, Idaho, for the Pepsi Nightfire Nationals August 11-14, celebrating their 40th year.
