EXTREME 10.5

It came down to two racers: Al White came into the race with a 30-point lead over Scott Slotten. Slotten tightened the gap in qualifying, gaining 10 points on White with Rob Barrios third.

Al White

In the first round Slotten got the single. White in his N/A GTO met Barrios in the BB nitrous Nova. White just needed the first round win and he would be the 2011 champ. When the tree flashed it was White out first .017 to .076 but his GTO stumbled badly at the line and he couldn’t catch Barrios, who took the win with a 5.57 at 122 over White's 6.25/144.

This opened the door for Slotten in the Dyno-Flo Pontiac, who would need a win in the final to break the points tie and claim the class championship.

Scott Slotten

Barrios would have liked nothing more than to stop Slotten's championship run. Both cars staged and at the drop of the tree Barrios took a big advantage, .084 to .205. It looked like Slotten’s run would end there, but at the stripe it was Slotten getting the win and the title, 4.89 at 146 over Barrios's 5.08 at 137.
