Donald Walsh from Wixom, Mich., drove his turbocharged 2011 Mustang to a 6.057/251.34 that stood as Top Speed of the meet.

Although the ending was a bit odd, it was a great weekend for Pruett. She beat Steve Matusek, Don Walsh and Brand to reach the final round for the third time in her brief six-race Pro Mod career. She also improved her race day record to an astonishing 16-4.

This race was the second consecutive ProCare Rx final round appearance for the Al Anabi backed Castellana. Castellana was defeated in Gainesville by fellow nitrous racer Rickie Smith. Castellana faced Smith in the quarterfinals during eliminations on Sunday and was able to avenge that loss with a stellar 5.874/ 244.16 that trailered Smith’s, 5.949/243.55 effort. Castellana’s 5.874 was also the Low ET of the meet for Pro Mods.  He also defeated both Chip King, and No. 1 qualifier Danny Rowe en route to the finals. The win at Charlotte leap-frogged Castellana over Rickie Smith for the ProCare Rx points lead after two races.

Because of the unique “four-wide” format at this race the track was hard for some of the racers to race on.

Danny Rowe’s supercharged ’68 Camaro led qualifying with a 5.874 and a best speed of 248.61.
