Pro Mod driver Troy Coughlin made a Banzi lap during Saturday's final qualifying session to get in the show. In the first Coughlin managed to improve with a pass of 6.005 at 250.97 mph, but he fell on a holeshot to Mike Knowles, who ran a slower but winning 6.031 at 243.50 mph.

The bump spot was held by Scott Ray at just 6.676. Top Speed of the meet went to Don Walsh and his Mustang at 251.34! There were two non-qualifiers Jay Payne and Kenny Lang.
