Pro Nitrous racer Bob Rahaim (right) came to the ADRL a few years back with a Powerglide-equipped Pro Nitrous combination even though the fastest nitrous cars at the time still used five-speed transmissions and clutches. Rahaim had the quickest and fastest ‘glide equipped nitrous car in the ADRL but that combination lead to little success and no wins.

At US 131 on Saturday both of these racers were rewarded for their efforts and, despite drought-breaking rain storms that delayed the race many times including just before the final rounds, they broke through with career performances that got them their first national event wins.
Not only did a couple of racers win their first ever national event titles but several racers also were involved in their first ever final round.

Other winners in Michigan included Jason Scruggs (Pro Extreme), Alan Pittman (Mickey Thompson Extreme 10.5), Eric McKinney (Pro Extreme Motorcycle), Mike Castellana (Aeromotive Fuel Systems Pro Modified), Bruce Thrift (Summit Racing Equipment Top Sportsman) and Bo Butner (SuperCar Showdown).
