PRO NITROUS

With the lone Firebird of Jason Harris eliminated in the first round, the rest of the Pro Nitrous class was made up of three 1968 Camaros, three 1969 Camaros and a 2012 Camaro.

Steve Jackson tells it like it is.

Steve Jackson of Martinez, Ga., got the win in his ’68 Camaro over the ’69 model of Bob Rahaim of Grosse Pointe, Mich. Even though Rahaim was off the line first (.031 to .054), Jackson’s 3.787 at 198.67 mph made up the difference to Rahaim’s 3.893/195.28.

Bob Rahaim

Jackson had qualified in the No. 3 position and got past John Camp and Mike Castellana to get to the final. Rahaim started in the No. 4 spot and eliminated Robert Mathis and John Hall in the first two rounds.

Jackson was the Pro Nitrous Champion, with a 520 point lead over second place Mike Castellana.
