PRO MODIFIED

Khalid al Balooshi, driving another of the Al-Anabi Racing team cars, got the Pro Mod win, besting Larry Higginbotham, Thomas Myers, and David Janes to meet Jimmy Keen from Parrish, Fla., in the final.

Al Balooshi was off first with a .027 RT to Keen’s late .047 and the 2013 Camaro got to the finish line first with a 3.848/195.59 to 3.907/194.58 for Keen’s ’63 Corvette.

It was a career-best Pro Mod time for the Qatari driver, who now also drives a Top Fuel dragster in the NHRA Mello Yello Series, and he just missed setting the record by four-thousandths of a second.

Keen (shown) had some consolation by ending up at the top of the championship points with 2,263. Travis Harvey was second.
