Hancock was on game for this race. He had the best reaction time every round of eliminations and the quickest ET in the semifinal and final round. In the finals against Stevenson, Hancock put a two-hundredths (0.025 to a 0.047) holeshot on the Bolingbrook, Illinois-based racer and never was threatened. Unfortunately he totaled his race car after crossing the finish line.

PRO NITROUS

Five premier Pro Nitrous racers made the tow to Cordova Dragway Park for the ADRL inaugural event at that track. When the last bloom of purged nitrous drifted away the favorites Al-Anabi racers Steven Jackson and former ADRL Champion Mike Castellana weren't in the winners circle. Instead underdog John Camp beat the odds put the favorites on their trailers and took home the winner money and the trophy. Al-Anabi teammates Steve Jackson and Mike Castellana dominated qualifying and were first and second on the qualifying sheet and figured to be in the finals the only problem is John Camp didn't read the script. Camp got the win over Jackson in the semis when Jackson broke about 100ft from the starting line Camp motored to the win. He was matched up against Nitrous racing legend Mike Castellana and tuner Shannon Jenkins. Castellana was ready in the final and left first with a .018 RT but Camp made up the holeshot in short order and used a 4.021 to catch and pass Castellana who ran an off the pace 4.06 for the biggest win of his career.

PRO EXTREME MOTORCYCLE

Suzuki and Eric McKinney absolutely dominated the PXM class. Aboard his 2012 Suzuki McKinney ran both the Top Speed and Low ET for the class (4.089/172.83), qualified number 1 and beat fellow Suzuki racer Brunson Grothus from nearby Davenport, Ia., for the title. McKinney had the quickest ET of every round of Eliminations and ran a 4.091/174.44 to bury Grothus, who must have lifted knowing he had no chance to win, recording just a 4.661/124.87 losing effort.
