JR DRAGSTER

The heads-up Pro Jr Dragster class saw KJ Nowling qualify number one in the class for the 11th time with a dead-on 7.900 effort. Nowling went to the semifinals before losing a close race to eventual class winner Dereck Raymond (South Lyon, Mich.) on a holeshot. Raymond proved his win over the number-one qualifier was no fluke recording a 7.908 on his 7.900 dial to defeat Kentucky racer Gavin Stanley’s 7.938 effort.

In the younger Jr Dragster class Brennan Weets from Clinton, Ia., won a dramatic double breakout final defeating Alabama racer Caleb Russell. Weets broke out three-thousandths less than Russell.

TOP SPORTSMAN / TOP DRAGSTER

Dan Olson (Kouts, Ind.) beat Troy Finner (Rockford, Ill.) in the Top Dragster final on a holeshot. He had a 0.015 RT and ran a 4.629 on a 4.60 dial that beat Finner who had a 0.039 RT and ran a 4.661 on a 4.65 dial.

The Top Sportsman winner was number 4 qualifier Curt Fredrich driving his ‘68 Camaro to a 4.457 on a 4.43 dial to beat the ‘57 Chevy driven by Edward Kurth who wasted a 4.853 on a 4.85 dial when he cut a 0.101 RT.

The next race in the ADRL schedule will be at Virginia Motorsports Park on June 8-9. That race will mark the debut of the X275 class in ADRL and there are already more than 40 entries for the event.
