The final round paired the #3 and 6 qualifiers, but that 5.08 in the Semi’s was looking hard to beat for Rivetti considering the 5.48 was his all-time best. When the tree flashed it was Rivetti away first 0.096 to 0.167. It was a close race with Rivetti and crew throwing their Personal Best run at Rydell, but it wasn’t enough to hold off the Chevelle. Rydell took the win 5.106 at 150.82 over Rivetti’s 5.399 at 129.73.

OUTLAW 8.5

Arguably, the WCHRA TCI Engineering Outlaw 8.5 Class is the most effected by high track temps; in qualifying we saw proof of this. We also saw some talented racers and tuners adapt to the conditions at hand!

Toaster Jones

It was the TTSBC 1965 Chevy II of Ryan “Toaster” Jones tuned by Josh Deeds, at the top of the qualifying list with a very impressive 5.119 at 150.66 mph. Behind Ryan was the rapidly improving Kevin Keller, Scotty Ray, R&E/Hensley Racing and Damon Rivetti.
