Good news, bad news to start the Countdown

Although the race wasn’t important enough for ESPN2 to show to completion and evidently NHRA’s payment for the coverage was non-binding (instead the network broke in with coverage of the five-hour rain-delayed NASCAR race from Chicago) the Carlyle Tools NHRA Carolina Nationals was full of upsets, records and close racing. It’s a shame more people didn’t see it.

For Robert Hight it was the second win in a row, for Morgan Lucas the second win in the last four events, for Jeg Coughlin Jr., the third win of the year and for Andrew Hines, his first win of this season. It all happened Sunday, Sept. 15, at zMax Dragway.
