What a finish!

It couldn’t have been much more exciting as the 2014 NHRA championships came down to the final event, and in some cases, the final round.

Erica Enders-Stevens became the first woman to win an NHRA Pro Stock world championship title Sunday, Nov. 16, when she defeated Jason Line in the final round of the Auto Club NHRA Finals.

In other racing, Matt Hagan claimed the Funny Car world championship in dramatic fashion over John Force and also won the season-ending race, while Andrew Hines took the Pro Stock Motorcycle championship by racing to a first-round victory. Morgan Lucas earned the Top Fuel race victory and Hector Arana Jr. captured the Pro Stock Motorcycle win.

When Don Schumacher Racing's U.S. Army team won the NHRA Top Fuel championship in 2009 it was Mike Green's first year as crew chief for driver Tony Schumacher.

The title was the last of six straight world championships for the team and the first with Green as the team leader.
