Bryant Anderson improved with a 4.62@ 157.85. Tim Ortiz had a problem plagued run, coasting through and registering 10.55 @ 51.73. Dennis Hendrix stayed consistent with a 4.85 @ 144.68 next to a tractionless tire shaking 5.51 @ 81.24 for Bengt Blomberg. Doug Morales missed the set up again, running 5.82 @ 78.79 and shaking the tires, while Chris Domino got out of the groove to a 4.74 @117.79.  With the two qualifying sessions in the books here is how the field “shook” out.

Round One

The first pair of eliminations saw Bengt Blomberg against Bryant Anderson. Anderson got a slim advantage at the green, but watched as Blomberg streaked away for the win, running 4.28 @166.23 to a losing 4.66 @ 154.63.

Next pair pitted Doug Morales against Dennis Hendrix. Hendrix pushed the tree to try gain an advantage over the powerful ‘68 Bowtie and turned on the red light, running 4.84 @ 139.44 and handing the win to Morales who detuned his ride to a fine 4.24 @ 167.48. The third pair out had Kevin Grubbs up against Tim Ortiz. It was a repeat of the previous pair, as Ortiz produced a red light at the start and handed the win to Grubbs, who ran 4.57 @ 157.86 despite covering him with a 4.45 @ 161.82, showing his team has potential in the refreshed Pontiac.
