Wally Krueger (near lane) defeats Russ Berens in the final.

Tom Hoffman's beautiful 1963 Max Wedge Plymouth received the A&A Transmissions Best Appearing Award.

The Victory NSS series rolled into Tri State Raceway in Iowa on June 7-8 for race two of six in the points series. Anticipation was high after an exciting first race at Gateway and fans were not disappointed. Wisconsin’s Wally Krueger took the win at Gateway Motorsports Park in May and continued his dominance at Tri State.

After three rounds of qualifying, Krueger narrowly edged out Dick Monaco’s Ford for the coveted #1 position. Krueger’s red Hemi Plymouth was a mere .002 off his index while Monaco was .007 off his. With cars running this close, you knew that Eliminations were going to be exciting.

Nineteen racers made the call for Round One, with Krueger getting the bye courtesy of his #1 position. Rosie Kossuth started out strong with a .010 reaction and 10.004 on her 10.00 index to take out Matt Mothershed’s 62 Max Wedge.
