NDRL at Milan, Michigan

ET Genie Fall Finals Caps Season

Milan Dragway played host to the fifth and final event of the 2014 NDRL-IAM Championship, the ET Genie Fall Finals. Pit gates opened early for the NDRL travelers and it was a good thing as there were over 400 cars on the grounds by Saturday morning, Sept. 27. This race would be pivotal as three of the NDRL championships were still on the line.

Quick Fuel Technology PRO Gas took to the track first with 22 entrants but it only took two rounds for the NDRL regulars to take the top five. Bob Eaker took his gorgeous Nova wagon to the point running dead on .003 over to lead Kenny Robinson, Sam Patrick, Dave Mullin and David Conover into race day.

Semifinal pairings found Conover shoving Gary wildy under advancing him to the final while Bob Sarkisian and his “Hellacious” Anglia took the win over Eaker.

Sarkisian held the momentum at the line and carried it down running dead on .004 to take his first NDRL win of 2014.

With his points finish, Sam Patrick is the Champion for 2014

PRO Comp Driver Bob Darlington towed to Milan to do some damage and it only took one qualifier for that to happen. Darlington and his ‘29 Chevy hammered the index running 10.009 to take the top spot. 2014 Champion Don Nave took the second spot with Dave Bommarito, Dale Fidler and Eric Carnes rounding out the top five.

Semifinal pairings found newcomer Carnes using a holeshot to take the win over Shawn Girdham. Troy Wilson earned the bye into the semis for his matchup with Carnes.
