The second session started with Bob Gulitti's 2012 Green Camaro grabbing the track and streaking to a 4.22 at 173.41 while Eddie Roach kept pace running 4.32 at 169.36. Gulitti improved over his first run by 2.61 seconds to got to the top of the list. Blomberg lined up with J. Shafer next and Shafer got the '89 Camaro down track with a 5.03 at 145.58 while Blomberg ran 4.30 at 169.05. Willet's reliable Trans Am logged a 4.70 at 149.20 while Sangster's black Corvair ran 4.94 at 138.29.

Domino paired up with Chris Gulitti and both Bowties were side by side at the line. Gulitti ran 4.30 at 165.56 while Domino posted 4.33 at 168.29. The next pair featured Wilson's '68 Camaro tripping the beams at 4.36 at 164.47 while Ortiz almost caught Bob Gulitti's leading 4.22 by running 4.24 at 172.28. The last run of the second session had Hickl get his blown beast down track with a 4.38 at 166.

All eleven cars improved on their first run. The largest improvement was Bob Gulitti's 2.61-second jump in performance with three others improving by a little more than 2.5 seconds.

Round one of eliminations began with Eddie Roach against number-one qualifier Bob Gulitti. Both drivers left almost even but Roach drove away from an off pace Gulitti running 4.37 at 164.53 for the win to Gulitti's 4.40 at 170.20.
