Semi Finals

Eddie Roach examines the broken rocker arm.

The first pair up in the semis had Chris Domino and Eddie Roach, who had to replace a broken rocker after his round one win. Both cars did their burnout and then sat on the line. Roach shut off and was rolled back and then Domino as the track timing system had issues and needed to be reset. The cars ran long enough that they would be run after the other semi finalists which would allow the crews to refuel.

Bengt Blomberg

The other semifinal had Blomberg in his black and white Firebird rolled up against the blue Camaro of Harry Crane and a pedal fest ensued. Harry Crane left the line first and lost traction as Bengt Blomberg also had traction issues. Crane got on and off the throttle three times and powered down track as Blomberg played catch up but could not run him down with Crane winning with a 5.32 @ 143.54 to Blomberg’s 5.92 @ 122.58.

Domino and Roach came up to the line again and left at the green side by side. The mended rocker arm held for Roach but Domino pulled away and streaked to yet another career number taking the win with a 4.02 @ 180.80 to Roach’s 4.61 @ 147.93.
