If you think that the name Tremayne sounds familiar then you would be right as Tyronne Tremayne’s wife, Rolinia, appeared in this beautiful pink Tremayne Engines 366 cubic inch Chev-powered Spitzer dragster. It started when she ran a 7.521 on a 7.50 in round one, had a gift in the second when Rocco Romano red lighted his dragster, and then used a quick stage and accept the green to gain her place in the final against Stephan Gouws. Though Gouws took a huge .008 to .107 lead off the line, the fellow dragster driver must have thought she was closing in on him and broke out by just under two hundredths giving the win to Rolinia with a safe 7.529 on a 7.49 dial-in.

Blown vesus Turbo – that was the theme of the extremely popular 10.5 Pro bracket. Here the white Holden Torana of Michelle Davies (far lane) takes on the twin turboed Alan Johnson 481 cube Mustang of Paul Mouhayet. While the little lady took half a tenth off the line, the magic looking Mustang had caught and passed her before crossing the stripe – a 6.199 to 6.380. While she hadn’t won, Mrs Davies was delirious with happiness as that was the quickest the steel bodied car had ever gone and it was its very last pass in her hands before stepping up to Pro Doorslammer next year.

A 22-bike field was on hand in the Modified Bike bracket with Ken Collin on a Suzuki Hyabusa snaring top spot with an 8.771. While Collin fell early to a break out, the final saw Manuel Hlioukakis on a Kawasaki ZX14 (near lane) take on Robert Simmonds on a Suzuki Hyabusa. On his green Simmons went to sleep and started dreaming with a .360 light as he took off in pursuit of Hlioukakis’ Kwaka who had reacted with a solid .33 light. At the other end it was a double break out with Hlioukakis going .029 under 9.491 compared to his opponent’s massive .085 under 8.815 break out.
