Despite sporting a new paint job, Michelle Davies’ 521 cube BAE-powered Holden Torana still exhibited its old tendencies to overpower the track as can be seen in this first round encounter that saw the car end up in the opposite lane. Despite getting the car in all sorts of bother she yet again pulled it out of the fire without putting a scratch on the new paint.

Scott Porter

The gorgeous blue Nissan Z car of Scott Porter was the class of the Factory Xtreme class that started with a top qualifying 6.862 pass in a seven car bracket. Parts attrition hit the first round with only five cars fronting for eliminations. There the Brisbane driver was given a gift when opponent Joe Signorelli, in his Toyota Scion, red lighted big time with a .373 red bulb. Just as well as his 11.48 was most unrepresentative of the car’s performance.

Round two saw only two cars front the starter with Porter’s 6.378/227.92 getting the job done. In the final there was no one to face as the Ibrahim Monaro couldn’t return and Porter rang his car’s neck with Low ET / Top Speed of the race with a 6.220/230.88

The Sydney Wedding Cars sponsored RB 30 turbo powered Holden Monaro of Mouhamed Ibrahim (shown) started qualifying with a crossed up eighteen second run that was followed by a straighter 7.884 in a first round loss to the 20B Turbo Mazda MX 6 of George Rehayem. In the second round he received a solo when no opponents were forth coming and again the car was at sixes and sevens recording a 28 second time. Alas, he too suffered mechanical gremlins and couldn’t return for the final round but was declared runner up in the Factory Extreme bracket.
