There were several Fuel Altereds vying for the Quick 16 spots at Eddyville. This is undoubtedly due to the fact that the track runs the FUEL ALTERED NATIONALS in the month of August every year.

When the drag strip opened in ’65, fifty years ago, it was located on a seldom used highway nine miles south of Oskaloosa, Iowa, along the Des Moines River. As the Iowa highways improved to a high quality level, that route was chosen over old US 63 for the present alignment of 163/63 which is a four lane mega highway passing directly in front of the raceway at exit 54.

With location, location, location at such a high level, an owner with a great attitude towards racers, fans, and the community, and a 50-year-old track which is just brimming with modern day improvements, Eddyville Raceway is a first class winner!

Until next time,,,,,
