AGENT 1320
The Agent heard at the PRI Show at Indy the Coughlin racing family and especially Troy Coughlin Jr. might return to Top Fuel in 2018. Troy and Troy Jr. were seen talking to at least one Top Fuel team owner who has turn-key complete race operations for sale. [12/11/17]
The Agent heard that quite a few of the PDRA eighth-mile series stars will be joining the NHRA Pro Mod series in 2018.
The Agent was told that the reason for the teams’ decisions was economics and nothing about how the PDRA is run. The teams feel that the only way they have a chance to get exposure and possible sponsorship is to race in front of NHRA crowds and on the NHRA TV broadcast. [12/11/17]
The next round of the 400 Thunder Professional Drag Racing Series will be the New Year Thunder at Willowbank Raceway on Saturday, Jan. 6, featuring Top Fuel, Pro Slammer, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Bike plus 400 Thunder sportsman categories. [12/11/17]

Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, Illinois, received the prestigious and coveted Outstanding Facility of the Year Award Wednesday evening at the annual Race Track Business Conference (RTBC) at the PRI trade show in Indianapolis.
The annual award recipient is determined by leaders in the motorsports industry, media and sponsors. The previous RTBC award winners included Indianapolis Motor Speedway (2013), National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park (2014), Daytona International Speedway (2015) and Charlotte Motor Speedway (2016).
"To know we were in competition for this award with every major motorsports facility in the United States makes it truly gratifying," said Curtis Francois, owner and CEO of Gateway Motorsports Park. "We would like to thank our partners at NASCAR, NHRA, INDYCAR and the many regional sportsman programs that work with us to produce more than 300 event days each year at our oval track, drag strip, road course and the Gateway Kartplex. We have expanded our exciting entertainment schedule for 2018 by adding events for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, NASCAR K&N Pro Series, and Formula Drift."
Congratulations to Executive Vice President and General Manager Chris Blair and the Burkster’s home track! [12/11/17]

Trans-Dapt Oil Filter Relocation Kits for LS Engines
Unlike most powerplants, the LS engine’s factory oil filter mounting location is integrated into the engine's oil pan. Unfortunately, many of the most popular LS engine swap oil pans being used today do not provide provisions for mounting an oil filter. This means you’ll need to relocate your engine oil filter if you’re installing the LS into a classic muscle car or truck using an aftermarket steel or fabricated aluminum oil pan. Trans-Dapt Performance Products introduces a new dual capacity, remote double oil filter relocation kit, specifically designed to meet this special requirement. The system allows you to mount your oil filter system just about anywhere you have space. Whether you’ve got an LS pan with top mounted AN-10 fittings or with the oil ports on the side, Trans-Dapt's LS swap relocation kit includes -10AN fittings that will plumb right up to the pan. Made in the USA, these kits include a remote base (single or dual), a pair of 90º -10AN fittings, ½-inch NPT fittings for the filter base, a pair of ½-inch hoses, and filter nipples. Basically, everything you’ll need to integrate your aftermarket pan into the vehicle’s LS oiling system. Single filter kits with side or top mount oil line ports are also available for mild LS builds, or where very limited space is available. [12/11/17]
