PSCA adds three events at Denver to schedule

The Premier Street Car Association has added three dates an Bandimere Speedway outside of Denver to their 2018 schedule. The Rocky Mountain Summer Series will race at the track on June 2, June 30-July 1, and Sept. 14-15.

 

The PSCA will begin their season at Gateway Motorsports Park near St. Louis with the Heads-Up Hootenanny of May 24-25 and return on Aug. 2-4. The season will end on Nov. 15-18 at Las Vegas with the Street Car Super Nationals. 

Midwest Pro Outlaws tally the championship points

The Midwest Pro Outlaw class completed their third season of racing last fall. Started at Iowa’s Eddyville Raceway Park in 2015, the also group traveled to Central Illinois Dragway in Havana, IL, for the first time last year, taking part in the Fall Nostalgia Race.

 

The class consists of a unique mix of vehicles racing an eighth mile on a 4.00 index. Cars include Pro Mod, Top Alcohol Dragsters, Top Alcohol Funny Cars, Fuel Altereds, and blown front-engine dragsters.

 

The other top ten points earners in order are: Jared Micetch (BA/D), Dan DeVore (Pro Mod), Roger “Radar” Lechtenburg (Fuel Altered), Jim Hidy (TAFC or AFA), Neal Hinman (BA/D), John Welter (Pro Mod), Jeff Krug (FA), and Dave Lowe (BA/D).

Funny Car Chaos comes to Central Illinois

And speaking of the Central Illinois Dragway, the Funny Car Chaos group has added a third date to their schedule. They will race at the Havana, IL, track on July 27-28.

 

It’s a run what you brung event, with any and all Funny Cars welcome, regardless of engine combination or body style.     

Rockingham celebrates ‘Year of the Bracket Racer’ with new events

Rockingham Dragway owner Steve Earwood has announced that the North Carolina track will celebrate 2018 as “the Year of the Bracket Racer.”

 

In announcing a 2018 schedule anchored by such standards as the Original Super Chevy Show, MOPARS at the Rock, the AMRA Nitro Harley World Finals, the NHRA’s Lucas Oil Series, the ManCup national motorcycle series and the Rugged Maniacs Series, Earwood revealed that more than $1.5 million in cash has been posted for bracket racing in the Top Eliminator, No Box and Footbrake classes. In fact, if a single driver was to sweep the biggest races of the year at Rockingham, his or her share alone would exceed $500,000.

Biggs to document WMPMA season

The Mid-West Pro Mod Series has announced that videographer Jimmy Biggs will attend all MWPMS event this season to document the results along with pit reports and features on series sponsors and race track partners in promotional videos. Backing for the project comes from Accufab Inc. and LENCO Racing Transmissions.

 

The series opens March 23 at the new Xtreme Motorsports Park in Trumbull, TX.

ProTorque Performance Torque Converter

The ProToque Performance Products Pro EV-1 torque converter utilizes technology from both Top Fuel and doorslammer racing. Co-developed with Boninfante Friction, it is a modular torque converter system designed to work with lock-up transmissions such as the TH400, Bruno Lenco, and US Drive. It is offered in both lock-up and non-lock-up configurations and uses many of the same parts, including stators and pumps, as the existing EV-1 product line.
