Mike Halstead pulled double duty driving the “Code Red” AAFC and Mike Stewart’s rear engine Top Fuel dragster at the March Meet. In the dragster Halstead drove 5.546 at 257.14 in his first-round defeat of Brad Thompson (6.417/171.79) and took the final-round win when Billy McDevitt had problems getting down the track.
Must have been that Mike’s Transmission fluid. [03/09/18]
Joey Severance was the TAD number one qualifier at the Phoenix NHRA Division 7 race and ran the fastest ever speed by a blown alcohol dragster. See all of the race results at here. [03/09/18]
Man Cup is ready to go and on April 6-8 they will lead the way in all bike class motorcycle drag racing action. They kick off the 2018 season at South Georgia Motorsports Park as they do every year and have a new treat for the Top Fuel Twins: The official Pingel Top Fuel Twin 5-Second Club has been announced.
There will be a $1,000 cash bonus for the first T/F-Twin to run a 5-second elapsed time pass during Man Cup-sanctioned competition in either T/F or T/F-Twin. Wayne and Donna Pingel leaped at the chance to sponsor the award and it will honor the first five racers who run in the fives with a T/F-Twin.

It’s Friday, so the Agent has been perusing the news to bring you something a little different. This week it is money. Although the ratings for NHRA on FS1 have not been spectacular, NASCAR has seen its ratings plummet almost steadily from 2009. This year’s Daytona 500 was down 22 percent from last year.
Costs are going up and teams have to stretch their budgets. Ralph Sheheen reports in Speed Sport that some NASCAR teams are bringing their own ice to the race tracks. It’s cheaper than buying it at the venue, saving the teams as much as $700 a weekend. Add that up over 30-plus weekends and it’s a significant savings.
That’s how tight budgets are getting these days, even for the top-tier organizations. And that’s a chilling thought. [03/09/18]
These channels are available as part of fuboTV's new "Adventure Plus" package, available to subscribers of the Fubo Premier base package for an additional $4.99 per month. [03/09/18]
“I’m really looking forward to getting some coaching from Matt and his wife, Angie,” said Kelly, who has already picked up some tips in February testing at Bradenton. “That will be a huge part of our program this year, having that veteran support and knowledge.” [03/09/18]
EZ Oil Drain Valve from JEGS
With JEGS Performance EZ Oil Drain Valve changing oil will not be a dirty job and will take only half the time. When ready for your next oil change, remove the drain plug, drain the oil, then install the EZ Oil Drain Valve – it fits all popular ½-inch to 20 UNF drain holes. When it’s time for the next oil change, just lift the lever and turn counter-clockwise. Turn back the lever to close. Helps eliminate stripped threads and burned/messy hand. For inset oil pans, use with the JEGS #60169 drain plug valve adapter [03/09/18]
