Tii Tharpe (far lane) doubled his celebration taking both the U.S. Nationals event win and the points championship in the Mickey Thompson Top Fuel Harley class.

Tharpe and Doug Vancil were locked in a battle that all came down to the final round where the two faced off for a winner take all matchup. “Stevie Fast” Jackson raced to his first career Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals victory during the E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series portion of the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals on Monday. This weekend’s Pro Mod racing, presented by Al-Anabi Performance, is the eighth of 12 events this season.

Jackson ran a 6.167-second pass at 168.51 mph to the trailing run of Jose Gonzalez at 6.682 at 189.26.

“I want to thank all the people that have stood by us this season,” said Jackson. “After two DNQ’s, all my sponsors and especially Bahrain 1 have had my back this whole time so to come out and win the U.S. Nationals is really special. I really couldn’t do this without my team. I know I’m the driver and drivers always get all the credit, but I really got to give it to my guys. This is because of them.”

Jackson defeated Sidnei Frigo (red-light), Bob Rahaim (5.835/246.89 to 5.895/246.35), and Mike Castellana (5.843/246.84 to 5.856/250.37) to advance to the finals. He is fifth in points. Leah Pritchett’s Top Fuel dragster will once again feature special “Angry Bee” graphics, a callout to the new Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320, at her sponsor’s title event on Sept. 13-16.

Pritchett debuted the 1320-themed livery on her Top Fuel dragster at the Dodge Mile-High NHRA Nationals in July, where she helped to announce the new street-to-strip Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 drag car. Pritchett raced her “Angry Bee” Mopar Dodge 1320 Top Fuel car, which features a modern tweak of the legendary Dodge Super Bee logo, all the way to the event win at Denver. The Don Schumacher Racing driver hopes to repeat that result at the Dodge NHRA Nationals, which kicks off the six-race NHRA Countdown to the Championship playoffs.

Pritchett and her DSR teammate, Mopar Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat NHRA Funny Car driver Matt Hagan, will once again battle for bragging rights in a pair of Dodge Challenger SRT Demon vehicles in between qualifying rounds at Reading. The DSR duo dueled at Bandimere Speedway during the Dodge Mile-High NHRA Nationals in July, ending in a 1-1 tie. Little River Dragway Team No. 4 repeated as champions at the IHRA Junior Team Finals. Little River No. 4 edged Little River No. 2 by just a one-point margin, 16 to 15. Pine Valley Raceway No. 1 finished third with 14 points.
