Before he headed out to the track for this week’s NHRA national event at World Wide Technology Raceway (gee, “Gateway” was so much easier to say), the Burkster had a few thoughts to share in his Burk’s Blast. [09/27/19]

If you can’t keep a drag strip open, what are your alternatives? Frank Sisk, owner of Accelaquarter Raceway in Harrisburg, IL, has come up with a unique idea. Fisk shuttered the track back in April, but will hold one more event on the eighth-mile track and one entrant could win a raffle for the facility itself!
A $5,000 entry fee will get entered into a $400,000 purse event on November 1-3, 2019. As part of the weekend, a raffle will be held exclusively for the grand prize of the “pink slip” for the entire dragstrip. Daily event specifics are available at oneforthemoneyrace.com.
The Agent must say, this is a first. [09/27/19]
During the Memorial Day weekend, the Texas Motorplex and Kilgore-based Capco Contractors teamed up to offer NHRA drag racing fans the chance to buy specially discounted tickets for the 34th annual AAA Texas FallNationals. In addition to the discount with each ticket purchased, Capco and the Texas Motorplex donated an additional ticket to the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation.
On Saturday, Oct. 19, nearly 400 veterans, first responders, and spouses representing the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation will be hosted in the Car Wrap City track-side hospitality tent for lunch provided by McAlister’s Deli. In addition, Top Fuel world champion and 2019 NHRA regular season Top Fuel champion, Steve Torrence, co-owner of Capco Contractors, will also make a special appearance during the race to sign autographs and host a Q&A. The Agent just had to share this 1954 Chevrolet COE Tourliner as detailed in Rod Authority. The motorhome was built by Russ Moen from Vancouver, British Columbia. Now that’s the way to travel! [09/27/19]
DEI Vapor Block Fuel Line Sleeving
DEI’s Vapor Block™ Fuel Line Sleeving reflects heat away from fuel lines to prevent fuel from vaporizing prior to reaching the carburetor. Designed with a convenient split design and adhesive flap that allows for easy installation, DEI’s Vapor Block provides quick heat protection without the need to disconnect the fuel line. Simply wrap the Vapor Block Sleeve around the fuel line, remove the adhesive liner and press the adhesive flap into place. Made of glass fiber and polyester laminated to an aluminum outer layer, Vapor Block offers excellent thermal protection, up to 302°F continuous or 347°F for peak direct heat and can be used on any line, hose or cable for long-lasting thermal protection. DEI’s Vapor Block Fuel Line Sleeving (www.designengineering.com) is available in three sizes: 5/8” x 36” (part# 010669), 3/8” x 36” (part# 010671) and 1” x 36” (part# 010672). [09/27/19]
