A massive 51 car field greeted the starter in the Aussie Muscle bracket. Steve Nightingale in his ’73 Ford Fairmont managed to qualify in 19th place with a 12.37. At the end of the day Nightingale’s Falcon faced another Ford – the 302 Windsor powered ’70 Capri of Stan Nikitas in the final frame. Nightingale was too eager off the line and red lighted ending his day.

A large contingent of display cars were also at the track. This white and silver early 60s sedan delivery was owned by Corey Longfield, son of Norm who ran the front engine low six second front engine fuel dragster.
