The first pair out had Kay taking the win over Leonard but Leonard didn’t go down without a fight as he improved on his qualifying time by three-tenths to card a 6.659/213.57.

Williamson (shown) eased over Renteria by running a 6.877 at 224.13 to an aborted run of 9.774/96.46 by Renteria.

Burbage took the win over Ferry after running a 6.294/234.14 and Marc Meadors won first round after taking out the only nitrous-assisted car running this weekend, the Ballance Racing Family’s 1953 Corvette with Terry Housley doing the driving duties.

The semi final round had two great side-by-side passes with Kay defeating Williamson with a 6.224 at 237.88 to Williamson’s 6.523 at 232.78 and Burbage got the easy win after Meadors red-lit (-.115). Still, they both made full passes down the quarter mile with Burbage clocking a 6.257/231.57 and Meadors running a career best 6.315 at 229.24 with his new combination.
