On Saturday, most of the day time
was taken up with rounds of true
sportsman racers, getting all their
quals in ahead of the stars of the
show for that weekend. Then at
around 5:30, Mission Raceway took
a trip down memory lane, having all the funny cars on the property line up on track for a photo op for the fans, a true fiberglass forest of classic muscle car bodylines, metal-flake glistening in the sunshine amongst cool ‘70s style graphics.

Late afternoon the cackle of Nitro Nostalgia Funny Cars broke the summer air; a pair of Mustangs, those of drivers Andy Beauchemin and local favourite Tim Nemeth, both kicking the day off with full passes to the finish.
