One of a number of the MSA competitors to achieve personal best figures over the weekend was Wayne Nicholson and the Lucky Devil ‘63 Corvette, demonstrating some progress with the new for 2011 Hemi set up that replaced the bbc that previously provided motive power. Nicholson qualified low with a 6.727s/211mph and improved his quickest time to date to a 6.589s/214mph, but this was not good enough to take the winlight against Ellis in the opening round of eliminations carded a 6.448s/206mph pass.
