PRO EXTREME

This class is reserved for the quickest and fastest eighth mile doorslammer racers. Rising superstar Randell Reid got his second straight win in just four races this season. He came from the 12th qualifying slot to beat Tulsa Raceway Park co-owner, Todd Martin, and Mike Recchia to get to the semi-finals against favorite Jason Scruggs.

Scruggs wasted a 3.592/212.74 when he “bulbed” against Reid, who struggled to a 3.744 at 165.42-mph pass but still got the win.

"We broke the lower pulley for the blower drive on that pass," Reid explained. "We got lucky there, but that's what it takes sometimes to get a win."

In the final round, Reid, who got his first career Pro Extreme win just a few weeks earlier at Memphis, met Brandon Snider, who had qualified sixth and showed that his team and car weren’t to be taken lightly.

Both drivers left with .041 lights with Snider blasting to a career best 3.575/210.92, but it wasn’t nearly enough to cover the stellar 3.538 /209.49 Reid put together in his '07 supercharged ‘Vette.

"I couldn't believe it when I saw that .53 up on my scoreboard," Reid said. "That's a career best--by far--for me, but it's all thanks to my crew. They worked so hard this week and Brandon Pesz (crew chief) is the smartest man I know around a race car."
