Texas Automatic Outlaws Pro Mod Association at Twin City

The Texas Automatic Outlaws ventured out across state lines to the east and set their sights on Twin City Motorsports Park in Monroe, Louisiana. This was the first time the TAO Pro Mods had ever seen this kool Cajun strip. Nine teams made the road trip and would get two qualifying shots to make the eight-car ladder. In addition to the Pro Mods the track’s regular No Electronics and Super Pro class were also running this evening.

Pro Mod Qualifying

When you’re in Louisiana in June, there’s one thing you can count on no matter what: humidity and heat. This Saturday night was no exception; with temps in the mid 90s and 60% humidity, tuning the outlaws would be a challenge. The track was tight and had plenty of traction as the Pro Mods rolled up for their first shot.

First pair out had the blown ‘55 Chevy of Kevin Grubbs run a 4.60 @ 156.78 with Bryant Anderson running a slowing 4.84 @ 127.79 in his green Chevy S-10. Next pair had the most recent winner, Bengt Blomberg, and Paul Brandt. Blomberg proved that you could get down the track, as he posted a 4.30 @ 167.28, setting a baseline. In the other lane Brandt mustered a 4.65 @ 155 15.
