Dick Landy’s Dodge goes to auction

The 1965 Dodge Hemi Coronet A/FX driven by the legendary Dick Landy will be one of the cars at the Mecum Auction held Jan. 5-14 at Kissimmee, FL.

Landy won 39 out of 40 match races with this 426 c.i. Hemi automatic powered car. Later driven by Jim Wetton and campaigned by Studio Dodge. It was restored by “Hemi Eddie” Strzelcecki in 2010.

This factory-designed race car is one of the most original cars remaining from the altered-wheelbase program that began the “funny car” name.

This car, Lot F124 goes to auction on Friday, Jan. 12, and is expected to sell for $750,000 to $1,000,000. Wow!

A neighbor has set up a GoFundMe account to help. No words can express how devastating this must be for the Sanders and their family and employees. Our sincere condolences.
